Before you paddle.
A few things to know. Then it’s just you, your people and the lake.
Start at the beach.
Everyday rentals are first come, first served. Choose a location, check seasonal hours and ask the beach team about the craft you’d like. Larger groups and lessons should be arranged ahead of time.
Let the team help.
Tell the team who’s coming and your experience level. They’ll help with equipment, life jackets and launching. Paddleboard rentals include a short orientation and leash; the other recreational craft include a marine safety kit.
Pack for the sunshine.
Bring water, sun protection and clothes you can get wet. Keep valuables secure and protect your phone from splashes. Ask the team where you can safely leave anything you don’t need on the water.
Read the lake.
Wind, rain and rough water can close the rental beach. Live weather on this site is a guide to current Kelowna conditions; it does not show every part of the lake. Follow the beach team’s guidance before heading out.
Share the shoreline.
Keep clear of swim areas, docks and other lake users. Wear your life jacket and follow the instructions given for your craft. If conditions change, head back and speak to the team.
